Temple Exteriors

No amount of words can do justice to the marvel carved in stone that is Keshava Temple, Somanathapura. Hence, we will take you through a visual tour of the Temple Exteriors through following photographs.

The Statue in the grounds outside the main temple. It has been placed here for decoration and photo-op purpose.
The big tree in the outer grounds as viewed from inside the temple. It is aged and has been witness to many events that happened at this temple over time.
The front view of the temple as viewed from the main entrance. Keshava Temple in Somanathapura is a Trikuta temple – that is, it contains three inner sanctums of worship.
The rear view of the temple. Two of the three towers are prominently visible.
The corner view of the temple as viewed from the portico around the temple.
The main door of the temple. This being a Vishnu Temple, we can see his guards Jaya and Vijaya on either side of the main door. Unfortunately, the status are damaged.
The entire temple stands on a star shaped platform that is adorned by elephants at the corners.
